On April 22, Harp Sohal and Shannon Mann of Pink Orchid Studio organized a fundraiser in support of the Maple Batalia Memorial Scholarship for the Arts at Emily Carr. The event took place at Guildford Town Centre’s Funk’n’Frost, where the special edition Maple” lip gloss was sold. One hundred percent of the lip gloss sales will go to support Maple’s scholarship.

Harp and Shannon stated, “After meeting Maple’s parents and family, we wanted to help grow her legacy.” Using the hashtag #weareallmaple they are encouraging everyone to wear Maple’s gloss and post it on social media to start a conversation and generate a sense of community. Harp and Shannon believe that empowering women starts with just one voice.

Support the Maple Batalia Scholarship for the Arts by donating online to the Maple Batalia Memorial Scholarship for the Arts or by completing this form and mailing it to Emily Carr with your donation. Read about Tisha Deb Pillai, the first recipient of Maple’s scholarship.
